![]() ![]() The Thresher and Giant Thresher have very similar average DPS (the Giant Thresher is slightly higher at every common IAS value I chose), however the min DPS is significantly higher for the Giant Thresher. The most surprising result was that the GPA seems to have the highest average DPS at almost all common IAS values. I don't think I made any mistakes I pulled the polearm stats from this website, and the IAS breakpoints for each from this website. ![]() ![]() (Updated output, with 75 IAS, and attacks per second) Note that for simplicity I chose to use the non-ethereal damage values, as I really only care about the relative values between the polearms: Figure out the armor value you like best.I finally got the runes to roll Infinity, but was having a hard time making up my mind on what base to choose, so I decided to write a console app to calculate the average, min, and max DPS at various IAS values for each. You can stand in fire to proc Fade for yourself. A benefit to using a non Ethereal armor is you can put it on and proc Fade for yourself.Īn Ethereal armor will eventually lose durability but non Ethereal can be repaired. The armor choice is more about hitting your Defense target. Because I personally find 600 Defense to be ideal on a Treachery, you don't need the armor to be Ethereal. It still lowers the resistance of any monster that isn't immune and thus further boosts your damage. Yes Griffon's is still effective on a Light Sorc without Infinity to break immunity. Other people like super high Defense but I find that my mercenary ends up being easier to kill because Fade doesn't proc as easily. Some people like really low Defense armor so Fade procs almost immediately. I find that 600 is a good balance between allowing Fade to proc early enough and providing enough Defense after Fade has been proc'd. ![]() On the Treachery base I personally prefer around 600 Defense. If you choose any other socket, Great Poleaxe actually hits the same breakpoint and does more damage. The 15 IAS Jewel is the ideal socket, especially with Infinity. Do note that this is with Andariel's Visage as the helm with a 15% Increased Attack Speed Jewel inside. The best base for Insight/Infinity is Giant Thresher with Thresher coming up right behind it. ![]()
